Dietary Manager, Certificate (591.3) |
A new supervised practicum has been created for the Dietary Manager Program. Previously DIT 201P has been used for both the Dietary Manager and Dietetic Technician Program. The new practicum course, DIT 130P , reduces the hours to 150 from 240. Learning outcomes and field experience hours are directly tied to the learning outcomes and field experience requirements set by the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) for Dietary Manager programs.

Updated and revised description and program objectives to align with the stacked certificate program. Removed CIT elective from second fall semester. Added MAS 220 to summer. Reduced second fall semester from 13-17 credits to 12-13 credits. Increase summer semester from 3 credits to 4 credits. Reduced total credits from 61-64 to 61-62.

Revised program description. Reduced the program to a “clock hour” equivalent of 600 clock hours. Reduced the first semester credits from 14-15 to 14. Reduced the second semester credits from 16 to 14. Reduced the summer credits from 6 to 4. Reduced the total credits from 36-37 to 32. Removed HPE 177 (3 credits) and related substitutions from first semester. Removed PSY 101 (3 credits) from summer semester. Added ALH 106 (1 credit) to spring semester. Added MAS 220 (1 credit) to summer semester. PTA courses and other options for substitution of MAS courses were removed as the Massage Therapist programs have added “Advanced Standing” for licensed PTA’s and PT’s instead.

What Do These Changes Mean for You?
Updated Programs
Students who are applying for the Fall 2025 term and later must follow the requirements for the updated programs. See the Program Requirements section at Programs, Classes & Degrees Explained for more details on these rules. If a student started a program under a former version and has not sat out for more than one year, they will following the requirements for the original program version and catalog year when they started. Any current, continuing student in an inactive program may elect to change to the more recent program version but it not required to do so. See an Academic Advisor if you have any further questions.
Deleted Programs
If the college discontinues a program completely, students currently assigned to the program will be allowed to complete the requirements of the degree or certificate. This option will remain in force for continually enrolled students for the duration of time expected for the program (normally two years for an associate degree or one year for a certificate).
